News > Shaun Wins in Switzerland!

It was a beautiful day in quite possibly the most beautiful place in the world, Saas-Fee, where Shaun White took home 1st place at the Snickers Classic. The contest, which went down under the design of Sass-Fee local and uber-shred, Fredi Kalbermatten, was one of the best of the season. A great course and an incredible vibe made the day amazing!

Word was out in Sass-Fee that Shaun White was in town and the crowd of people watching the contest couldn't have been better. A jam session with some of the Europe's top riders like Jusso Laivisto gave Shaun a run for his money in the 3 hit format. Jusso started off on his first run with a double backie on the second kicker!

But Shaun was in the zone. No matter the jet lag or the late night guitar session, he kept progressing through the entire 2 hours of riding time. The hammer, though, came late in the day with a run that went 180 on to a snowbox to cab 900 off the kick at the end of the table and then into backside 900 to cab 1080!

This was the final contest of the TTR season and although Kevin Pearce was crowned champion at the US Open, with this win Shaun actually bumped up his ranking to 1st place. No one saw that coming and so with this win, Shaun will start off the 2008/09 TTR World Tour season in 1st place. Get it from the TTR here!

Writing this from the back seat of the car as we cruise through Switzerland on our way to Innsbruck. Word on the street is there is some skating to be done! So long chocolate and watches, hello schnitzel and...schnitzel!!
