Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (June 13, 2009) - Yesterday, professional skateboarder and X Games Champion, Shaun White brought his skateboard to the Cayman Islands where he kicked off Skate Cayman, the Caribbean's premier skateboarding camp at Black Pearl, the second largest skatepark in the world.
Shaun spent all day Friday at the camp and all evening under the skatepark lights, interacting and skating with students from local primary and high schools, international visitors, and skate enthusiasts of all kinds. He was enthusiastic and generous in offering his time, tips to improve skating skills, signing autographs, and demonstrating his trademark skating talent for the campers and visiting school children.
While in the Cayman Islands Shaun has also been able to enjoy the warm Caymanian culture, and a number of Grand Cayman's famous attractions including snorkeling at Stingray City, swimming on Seven Mile Beach, and meeting the turtles at Boatswain's Beach.
Week one of Skate Cayman is now one for the books, and Black Pearl gears up to welcome other top skaters (including Bucky Lasek, Brian Sumner, Greg Lutzka, and Rune Glifberg) throughout the summer until August 21st. haha. this is great i was there and in one picture, where hes jumping those skate boards, the little boy in the green helmet, thats my little brother(: he really loved it, it was a really great experience. i would so love to do it again!
