One is sweet, two's even better, but three golds in three years at the Winter X Games? It's unheard of, literally. Until Shaun stomped his run last night in the Men's SuperPipe, nobody had ever won back-to-back-to-back golds. But uncorking the now infamous Double McTwist 12, Shaun wasn't all that fazed by history.
"It's been a wild night for me," said Shaun at the bottom of the pipe. "Hitting my head didn't help anything, I've been seeing stars all night long," he added, referring to a helmet-popping, skull-rattling wipeout during a practice run not more than an hour before he took center stage.
Obviously the newly unveiled McTwist was the talk of town. "I knew in my mind that I wanted to do it, no matter what happened even if I was in first," said Shaun. "That trick's just a beast of its own. I don't know, somedays are just tougher than others, I guess. I was glad to put it down tonight."

Hey Shaun! I think you are amazing and you truly are the best! You are such an inspiration to me. Your determination and love for what you do is awesome and you seem so down to earth. I started snowboarding a couple of years ago. And unfortunately I only get to snowboard once a year : ( so in total I have only been snowboarding about a month (total day), which is defiantly not enough because I love snowboarding. I wish I lived in a place with better places to snowboard. Watching you in the 2010 Olympics truly inspired me (CONGRATS ON WINNING GOLD!!) and for my spring break ,y fam and I went to aspen and I’m currently here right now. Because of you I went on the halfpipe for the first time. I have only been on it a few times and I’m soooo close to getting some air. One day I hope I can be as good as you (not gonna happen, but I can hope right?) and maybe go to the Olympics if I get to snowboard more. I think it is amazing that you take the time to communicate with the people that admire you . It makes you seem so down to earth (and I have no dout that you truely are). I am also impressed that you did your second run in the metal round at the olympics even though you didn't need to, it showed great dedication and passion for the sport and also gave a few of us Wisconsinites the opportunity to see the Double McTwist! Congratulations on GOLD Shaun, everyone knew you would do it. AND: Signatures are suppose to be sloppy and unreadable thats what makes them unique.

I'm 53 and always thought of snow boarders as scared skiers and reckless kids. I live in NW NJ in a ski resort town. Skiers are a minority here now...chased out by snow boarders. But if they grow up to be you...I'll be their biggest fan. I don't know if you're fearless but you are incredibly talented and a joy to watch.
