skate_vert_podium_96011.jpgThe Dew Tour Championships took to Sin City this past weekend, and Shaun came up aces, winning his third vert event in as many tries. Unfortunately, due to a tweaked ankle early in the year Shaun missed the Boston stop of the Dew Tour, which made the odds on winning the overall Dew Cup a long shot, but just the same, going three for three ain't half bad. Congrats to PLG who took this year's cup. And now folks, it looks like we're quickly slipping into winter, and you know what that means...but until then, here's a few highlights from Vegas. Enjoy.

Shaun_Dew_Tour_Final.jpgHopefully what happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas. The Dew Tour Championships are coming to Sin City, and right there in the maelstrom of slot machines and blackjack tables is a crazy race for the vert title. The ramp's getting hoisted by the pool at the Hard Rock, and come this weekend it's game on.

So how's Shaun looking to take the cup? Depends on your perspective. If you're a glass-half-full kind of person things are stellar. He's coming off back-to-back wins on the ramp, and for the first time in Dew Tour history, the Vegas championships will offer a 50 percent increase in points...meaning a win will give the rider 150 points, instead of the usual 100, and so on down the line.

"That's solid," tells Shaun. "I need all the points I can get. It's hard missing an event and playing catch up. If I wasn't injured for the first event I would be sitting pretty nice, I think."

But then if you're a glass-half-empty kinda chap, Shaun's got a lot of work ahead of him. For Shaun to win the cup PLG would need to place an unlikely dead last and Bucky and Andy would have to place no higher than fourth.

One way or the other, Vegas is going to be interesting...it always is.

Shaun and friends go to the adventure park in Park city Utah. They get xtreme on the alpine slides zip line and the coaster. Devon and shaun scream like girls on the coaster, shaun flys down the alpine slide and he takes you on a POV ride down the zip line.

skate_vert_final_white_jubulation.jpgWith two wins in as many tries on the 2010 Dew Tour, things are rolling Shaun's way. After coming out on top in Portland last month, this weekend in Salt Lake City saw yet another full-on, no-holds-barred battle on the vert ramp with Pierre-Luc Gagnon. And come Sunday afternoon, Shaun put together another run worth remembering, and was awarded his second Dew Tour win in as many tries for the effort. He still has considerable ground to make up if he's going to win the Dew Cup Championship in Las Vegas this October, but then again, stranger things have happened. Check out the highlights from the weekend's final vert jam below...

SW_skatevert_podium_960.jpgWinning's never easy, especially when you gotta do it on a vert ramp against Pierre-Luc Gagnon and Bucky Lasek and Andy McDonald, but with a run to remember, Shaun took the top spot on the podium today at the Dew Tour in Portland.

After coming unstuck on his first two runs in the final, Shaun was able to put together something special for the good folks of The City of Roses. "I knew I had to do a heavy-heavy combination and I nailed it," was Shaun's explanation.

As for the specifics, the winning combo goes a little something like this: frontside fakie 540, to fakie 540 cab, to 720, to armadillo, or for all you laypeople, a frontside heelflip body varial 540.

It was Shaun's first Dew Tour appearance since '08, which may have helped fuel the fire. "I wanted to show that I've got it down," he surmised. Consider this mission accomplished.

SW_Video_Game.jpgMuch awaited, much anticipated, and a hell of a lot of fun. Here's the latest trailer to Transformation, Shaun's newest video game creation.

Shaun_X_Games_Pre.jpgWith Shaun's name entered into both the Vert and Best Trick categories at this year's X Games, he's finally making his return to the ramp official. X Games hits LA from July 29 through August 1, and Shaun's eager to get rolling. Coming off of a serious ankle tweak that left him sidelined for the better part of two months, he's amped to drop into the Staples Center and see where four wheels will take him. Both the Vert competition and Best Trick go off on Friday, July 30. More to come soon from the man as he gets on the board and the beast that is X Games takes off.

SW_Skate_Game_Update.jpgHere the trailer for Shaun's new game. Some pretty amazing features built into it. The game drops this fall. Still can't talk about the details, but enjoy the trailer for now...
