Summertime is all about skateboarding. Shaun was feeling a little end of summer skate trip so we packed it in and took off for Portland, Oregon, one of the heaviest hitters in the skatepark world.
Known for their plethora of parks, the Pacific Northwest has become world famous for bigger, better and badder! The legends like Burnside still pull the weight of Portland's skate-centric reputation, but there are so many concrete parks that you almost don't know where to begin.
For Shaun, this trip was a getaway. A little time to clear the head and skate with some friends, but also to stoke out some fans. There is nothing better than seeing the looks on kid's faces when Shaun rolls up to the park.
If you saw Shaun cruising in the parks while he was in Portland, hope that it was fun. Drop in unannounced and just ride with everyone else. That is what makes skateboarding and snowboarding so amazing. Because it is pretty unlikely that Tiger Woods will ever share a round of golf with you, but there's a pretty good chance that you could pump around with Shaun White in the deep end or ask him for advice on that trick you are trying to stick.
Although summer is gone and most of you are all back in school, mark my words, Portland, we will be back, oh yes, we will be back!

OH MY GOD!!!! I just went on a field trip today for my school and passed this exact skate park w/ the dinosaur!! Thats sick!! I wish i could of been there when you were in town! I live way close to that park! Gosh I luv oregon!

DUUUDDE, this is siiick. I lvoe how everyone jsut sits there and wattches you looking crazzy, i would probabbly be like out coldd in shock :) Yeahh, I'm only 13 but I wwant to makee it big, But we haave no mountains in illinois :( and last time i tried skateboarrrding i was actually pretty good, untiil a little rock got stuck in the wheel and I flung forwaard and scraped upp myself :) my broother is a snowboarrder too, at least when he goes snowboarrding! Oh my goshh, i would do anytthing just to meet you or talk to you or go to the xxgames and waatch you pwwn everyone!
dude your totally awesome u should come to indiana cause i am only 11 and already love snowboarding and skateboarding and all my friends say girls shouldnt do that its for guys, i say like watever its fun !!! ya rock on shaun white

I'm going to go there for my 18th birthday, its time to pick a board up again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The squid will dominate both water and snow, well maybe not snow that's your domain, but i will ROCK IT!!!!
Hey! Ive been to Mt.Hood! i live in texas so thats the only snow ive seen... :) But yeah ive always wanted to try snowboarding but yeah there is really no snow here... haha :)

i think you should pramote your skateing a little i mean dude your sick on the board you should go and be more public about this you are awesom and i would know i skate bord all the time and wish i could do what you do

what diner is that in the P-town photos? i'm a portland native live in vegas now, miss it tons! hats off to you for hangin with the kids at the local parks, who else freakin does that?.. totally cool. the Today show giveaway was sweet as well, Shauns game is on my xmas list this year and i've been really good :) ?? is shaun a mittens or gloves guy? thx
so i personally dont skate.. but i support my boyfrienn && my best frienn at it. we live in a tiny town called Wallis,TX.. && literally all they do is.. eat, sleep && breathe skate.. it would be cool to have a pro skater come down here && skate with them in town or at a skate park in katy.. oh && i am like your #1 fan..i promise.. :]
